I think that's very, very wrong. There are vastly, vastly more community
submitted updates now, and they are easy to apply to the repository with
low effort on the part of the macports committers. It's been an
unequivocal win.

There has been an increase in commit volume in more recent years, but it
certainly didn't coincide with the GitHub migration in 2016.
