Indeed, one of the goals of the stats is to help figure out when the default variants for ports should be changed. Building a handful of different variant sets for some ports rather than just one would also be nice, but requires a bit more work on the buildbot side. We could also use some tools to help analyse the mpstats data to detect such situations.
