Apple’s legacy binary protocol is deprecated as of November 2020: https://developer.apple.com/news/?id=11042019a&1572897862
The PR https://github.com/macports/macports-ports/pull/8719 addresses the new protocol. Would someone please take a look at this PR and if possible merge before the 1 November deadline?
