Install scripts are calling ‘install -s’ which in turn calls ‘strip’.
After fighting with my hacks for a while I do think the best option is the very-final-destroot as mentioned. I’d appreciate any advice on where and how to add this in MacPorts installed files ... I’m not an expert in macports-base.
