Confirmed it's not running on the command line either.  I also tried -X -e 
clean compile process-classes.

Normally I'd think this was the fault of the plugin, but from the logging it 
looks like Maven never even tries to run the plugin. I searched the console 
debug output for the plugin name and there were no hits. Is there any way for 
me to tell if the plugin is running from the maven execution log?

Run Configuration just a way to launch Maven build in a separate project. Like 
Rafal has suggested, make sure the build works properly on command line. What 
goal do you specify?
