Hi, I got the build-helper-maven-plugin activated on a relatively plain new Eclipse installation and workspace. Due to Java 1.7.40, I added the lifecycle configuration manually in the pom. See http://stackoverflow.com/a/20249944/873282 for a long excerpt of the pom.
