One remaining quirk that I don't know if there's any way to avoid: The installation blocks waiting for the Maven project import to finish. Of course, the imported projects are going to be sort of transiently busted because the connectors aren't installed yet. After the install completes, I restart Eclipse and a Maven project update started automatically. So maybe it all sorts itself out on its own, but I think what I'm doing to recommend to the team I work on is that they explicitly install the connectors they're going to need (via the Maven / Discovery / Open Catalog preference dialog) before they import the projects, because we have a *lot* of projects and doing essentially two passes over them all seems sort of undesirable. Unless people have a better suggestion...
