I did it for convenience. I’m still learning github so I’m not totally sure
what the limitations are.

When I send a program to the 8201 or M100, I use the TERM program and select
Download. I’ve learned from this group that it is best to drop the speed to
600 when sending data to these machines. The file then gets saved as a .DO.
I fire up BASIC, load the .DO file, then save it and it is back to a .BA.

The disadvantage of this method is that the program will temporarily exist as
both a .DO and a .BA.

For larger programs, this could be an issue. I suppose I could get around
this problem by doing a CSAVE and capturing the resulting audio file as a .WAV.
I haven’t tried this yet, but I have seen some people distribute their
programs as a .WAV. I might experiment with this a bit and maybe add a .WAV
file to github.

Oops, I sent to early --- just out of curiosity, did github make you name the
file "ba.txt", or did you just do that for convenience?

You can find it at https://github.com/LEJ-Projects/TRS80M100_NEC8201A

Subject: Text Formatting Program for NEC PC-8201A or TRS-80 Model 100

Enclosed is a test formatting program I recently completed along with a pdf
file that documents it.

I wrote the documentation on a NEC using the dot commands described in the
documentation. I transferred it to my laptop via the serial port and pasted
it into Notepad. I changed the font on Notepad to New Courier Bold and set
the size to 12. I then printed it to the pdf file that is attached.

I was planning on creating a folder on the Club100 Member Upload Library, but
was having trouble logging on.

In the meantime, here is the program and the documentation.

Let me know if you try it , have trouble with it or if you have any comments.

It has been tested on both my TRS-80 Model 100 and my NEC PC-8201A.

Thanks

Lloyd Johnson
