Hello, I am a student hoping to use LyX to format my thesis. My university provides a template .tex file which I am not required to use, but would save me some time. When I try to import the file into LyX, I recieve the error "An error occured while running: tex2lyx..." Based upon my internet research, it seems like a likely cause is some incompatibility in the TeX code which is not easily translatable into Lyx. I was wondering if you could help me identify some likely culprits so that I could edit the TeX file to something that LyX could import. Is this straight forward to do, or do you think it would be more time efficient to recreate the template in LyX? If I create a LyX template, can I donate it to the grad school for other students to use? Is it possible that I'm having an issue because my template uses BibTex?
