You didn't answer the question which LyX version you've used. I think you tried it with LyX 2.0.6. This is a Carbon build for 10.5 on a 10.6 machine. I did it that way to make it as usable on most of the machine out there. I've made a LyX 2.1.0 prebeta build on 10.8 for 10.6 at least with Cocoa.
