I just \usepackage{hyperref} in the layout file, as I remember. DANGER WILL ROBINSON: hyperref and Memoir conflict. There are documented ways to get around this, but I was unable to get them to work. As a result I don't use Memoir, and in fact I always use my own modifications on the Book document class. SteveT
