The characters in the subject heading now appear in a LyX document the bibliography between the heading and the bibliographic list. I do not remember it being there before. When compiled "[1]" appears in the same place in the compiled document. Again, I do not remember it being there before.
If I delete the characters in the LyX document the heading is deleted. How do I---can I?---get rid of these characters?
