could somebody help? -> I try to install lyx (windows 7) for a colleague. I am usually on Debian Linux.
according to 2.1 Windows binaries (XP/Vista/7) The Windows installer can be downloaded here: LyX-2.0.4-1-Installer.exe. A binary for CygWin can be downloaded here: lyx-2.0.4-cygwin.tar.gz. I downloaded the installer.exe and got lyx installed. Trying to open an existing lyx file (2.0.1 format) I get en error no readable lyx format. and C:/users/Sigrun/AppData/Local/Temp/lyx_tmpdir.HP1712/Buffer_convert- LyxFormat.em1712 What went wrong? Should I have downloaded lyx-2.0.4-cygwin.tar.gz additionally? I thought it was done while installing. Wolfgang
