Sorry, I cannot fix your problem. It works for me out of the box. I tried it in a virtual machine. I've installed Ubuntu 12.04 - Pangolin - CD-Edition 32bit Updated it to the current patch level. Added the german language pack. Installed LyX 2.0.2 from software center. The only available spell checker "Enchant" isn't selected. After choosing it the spell checker works as expected.
