On Windows, the spellcheck dictionaries should be installed by default. As for the linguistics extensions, you should start with the Linguistics Manual (Help > Specific Manuals > Linguistics Manual) and with this HowTo: http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/LinguistLyX HTH Jürgen
