Thanks, Enrico. I've checked that out. With help it may be something I'd want to try. For now, I got the command to run by specifying the path and with the default settings in document > settings compiling to pdflatex recognizes the unicode coding. It's a workaround. I hope there will eventually be a fix to the problem that will make it unnecessary. If not the solution you suggest may work--again, with help.
