I investigated a bit further and I think this is http://www.lyx.org/trac/ticket/7941 This explains why I do not get the crash: The bug is already fixed in the stable branch. Peter, if you compile the source yourself, you might try out latest branch or apply the following patch to your sources: http://www.lyx.org/trac/changeset/40514 Jürgen
