Do you have any unusual characters in these Xrefs? Perhaps there is some issue about the encoding. It's hard to know in the abstract.
Richard I have no problems pdf-ing the documents and gets no error messages, just some ?? for some of the Xrefs. I have looked at the Latex-log now and that doesn't tell me anything (there is a reason why I use Lyx and not TeXnicCetnter e.g.), beacuse I really don't get Latex. I have found some warnings but I don't understand them. I don't use any special/unusual characters in the Xrefs, just normal names. Solvi
