well, you haven't write a single word about Uwe :) you write about reliable
source which leaves open doors for pretty wide interpretations and implications
for binary packge itself. from what i know there are currently problems as far
as unistalling previous lyx versions, issues with some cruft in system registry
etc. so the breakage can be apparent only after you will install some later
version. to announce availability of the packages without these warnings
is somewhat misleading no matter how we interpret what reliable source means...
