You would usually want to use a general purpose encrypting utility
(bcrypt, etc.), encrypt an entire partition (luks, truecrypt, etc.) or
use an archiver such as 7-zip to generate AES-256 .zip files (on Linux
via the cli or Gnome's File-Roller). But I would be curious if there
could be a cross-platform solution implemented in LyX.
