Anyway, at the risk of being redundant ... Open a DOS prompt (anywhere, the directory does not matter) and run 'pdflatex --version'. If MiKTeX spits up some version information, at least we know it is installed. If Windows says it has no clue what 'pdflatex' is, add the MiKTeX bin directory to your system path. (I seem to recall pointing you to the PathEdit utility earlier.) If pdflatex is present (and on your command path), export a small test document (preferably a one-liner using article class) in LaTeX (pdflatex) format, open a DOS prompt in the directory where the .tex file landed, run 'pdflatex <filename>.tex' and report any errors. Maybe that will give clues. Paul
