i'm not sure i understand what are you trying to do here, but if its possibility to get context menu for a hyperlink which launches viewer for file:// or http:// web address i can provide not complicated patch for lyx. it was part of lyx months back, but then we get nervous thats its security issue and reverted it. pavel
