If I remember right, we usually have one (or zero) example or template
per LyX layout (or document class). IMO, the number of templates that
ship with LyX should be limited to generic ones that can serve as a base
for a users custom templates.

OTOH, the LyX wiki would be a good place for additional, alternative
examples and templates.

This is a sensible structure for a templates wiki page...
