Thanks a lot Liviu, This was the missing part. Once I have included this module, I get the option to compile with pdflatex and it works. I have totally missed this new module.
For an unknown reason, Lyx 2 is convinced that my document is in Welsh instead of French, even if I set the document language to French in Properties, it keeps part in Welsh. I do not remember how to tell to Lyx that all parts of my document must be considered in French (I have selected all, but have not been able to locate the menu for choosing the language of the selected text).
