Dear LyX Users,

im writing my phd thesis with lyx and have the following question
regarding the use of quotes and its paragraph styles for a quote.
I want to have a quoted sentence within a text block which is standard
text. I reformatted the quote environment that the quote has no breaks
and is italic):

preamble:

\renewenvironment{quote}%
{\noindent\it}%
{}

So it works beside of a double blank between the standard text and the
beginning of the italic quote environment.

In Lyx text representation i have a first linebreak after "This"

This is part of my text and now
\begin{quote}
{}``{[}...{]} comes the quote from a book and the cite stuff may not
be part of the quote and not italic''
\end{quote} \cite[S. 39]{Liggesmeyer.2009}.

end a 2nd linebreak after the end of the quote before the cite.
(Because i need to select the quote as quote paragraph style)
So in lyx its not very nice formatted.

So my Questions:

1. How do i get rid of the double blank between the normal text and
the beginning of the italic quote (is my renewenvironment not
correct?)

2. Is there a possibility to get something like a "emph Button" for
the quote, so that it is still part of the text block, and not
separated by 2 line breaks before and behind of it?

Thanks in advance!

Mario
