You must use a GUI font that supports/contains these characters.

You might copy the file "unicodesymbols" from the LYXDIR to your
personal LYXDIR and add Unicode-to-LaTeX definitions.

Alternatively, try whether you can configure LyX keybindings to e.g.
math-insert <something> given the Unicode char.
