Are you using the binary we provide for 1.6.5, or did you compile it yourself? What you describe sounds like symptoms I see when I compile LyX with Qt 4.5 or 4.6, but Qt 4.4 does not have these problems, at least in my testing. (The binary we use for distribution uses Qt 4.4.) BH
