If you need examples of modules with advanced features, I'd recommend looking at the Sweave pages of the LyX website. While it is much more complicated than the examples above (see previous email), I've found it invaluable for understanding LyX's internal mechanisms: http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/LyxWithRThroughSweave While there is a learning curve, it's pretty mild. The examples are pretty self explanatory and LyX has a logical design. Moreover, the members of the mailing list are very helpful. I've gotten some wonderful guidance on the questions I've posted.
