We're working on the crash problem, but no real solution yet. (Yours is the right workaround for now.) There have been no changes in key bindings on our end. Perhaps your preferences have changed. To get Mac standard bindings, you should have mac.bind listed in LyX > Preferences > Editing > Shortcuts > Bind file. BH
