Interestingly, the \textdegree command or degree symbol did not turn up in the error message you send. Still not all the info we need. Did you actually write k = 1,38° 10^{-23}VAs/K ??? Or did you use some symbold for times? Which font is selected (via Document>Settings or a custom style/preamble cmd). Which encoding do you use (Document>Settings>Language>...), Unicode or language-dependent or latin1 or ...
