Ηλία, an ERT means (for some people) "Evil Red Text" that does the (La)TeX magic within a LyX document [1]. Basically you press Ctrl+L ( or via the menu you go Insert > TeX Code ) and you enter... well, TeX Code! For example, if you press Ctrl+L and enter within the (Evil) red box the command "\dots" (without the double quotes) you will get three dots. However, I have no idea what exactly you have to type to get the "/" over a(ny) character.
