Thanks for the tip! That is a really nice package - I was not aware
of it previously! It does solve the AMS package conflict I had earlier.
Yes, it's great, isn't it?
I'd guess your problem must have had to do with how the starred
environments get defined in the AMS classes. Perhaps differently from
how it's done in the standard classes.
