  Yawn. What the commenters left out of those mostly on-target replies to
the original post is that there is more to typesetting a page than
ligatures. Intercharacter spacing, using the paragraph and page (rather than
the line) as the adjustment unit, and more all contribute to the visual
distinction.

  Nothing to worry about, especially if one doesn't use a Microsoft OS.
