Hi,
I wondered if there is a Lyx-Command to insert a specific TEX-Code (e.g. "\newline"). The
"ert-insert"-command only opens an input box, but I would like to create a toolbar for inserting
frequently used tex-codes. Can I specify an argument for "ert-insert"?

You can do this by using the LyX-Function "command-sequence". Your specific problem could be realised as: bind "yourKey" "command-sequence ert insert; self-insert \newline;char-forward;" if you don't want your cursor out of the ERT-Box afterwards, you have to omit the appended "char-forward;"
