Hello,

Following a recent discussion about version control and Git, I am
trying to install such a system on my Windows XP laptop. I have the
last stable version of LyX and the last version of Git pulled from the
following address : http://code.google.com/p/msysgit/
I have installed the file called Git-1.6.2-preview20090308.exe in a
folder called c:\tools\git.
I have included c:\tools\git\cmd and c:\tools\git\bin in my global
path, I have restarted my laptop and done a reconfigure in Lyx.
Restarted LyX again and if I try to register an open file, LyX
complains by telling that "some problem has met while running the
following command: ci -q -i -t -'(no initial initial description)"
"myfile.lyx"

(I have accepted the default description given in the previous command).

Now, I am not very used to VC but I have the impression that this is
rather a RCS command, instead of a git command, no?

I can I make LyX recognise and use Git?

Thank you in advance for your help. Once this problem is solved, I
will again summarize the process in my blog (or in the Wiki if
necessary, because I have not been able to find the instructions
there).

Best regards,

Murat
