Thanks, Richard. It works now.

In summary, this changes the default path to .bib files:
1 Start > Control Panel > System > Adanced > Environment Variables (as
Siegfried instructed);
2 add a BIBINPUTS variable with the path to the bib files (as you instructed);
3 reboot.
