# /usr/bin is in $PATH (...imagine a linux-box without /usr/bin in
$PATH :-O).

and

$ whereis tex4ht
tex4ht: /usr/bin/tex4ht /etc/tex4ht /usr/share/tex4ht 
/usr/share/man/man1/tex4ht.1.gz

So, it's not that. I am still learning LyX and LaTeX so it's not easy to
recognize where I should start searching. And, as I already said, my
time is limited (like every-one's of course :-).
