Having graphics centered, is IMO a very common need, and most people
probably use the paragraph-centering because it is the only thing the
GUI offers.
LyX then creates a:
\begin{figure}
\begin{centering}
\includegraphics{asdf.pdf}
\par\end{centering}
\caption{asdf}
\end{figure}
Is this equivalent to what the texfaq-entry says one should do?
Does the \par add additional (unwanted) whitespace?
