Not having had a need for this myself yet, it sounds like the new Layout Modules in LyX 1.6 are the thing you are after. It's basically an 'include'-file, which
- customizes things - you would include in each of your documents - you can later change. See the Customization manual ch. 5 (in LyX 1.6.1). HTH, /Konrad
