There were issues with the conversion and reversion of subfigures
until very recently. I think some of these were fixed in recent
commits. But Jurgen seems to think he missed one, so we'll have to
sort that out still.

Yes, but conversion/reversion should be a separate issue from creating
one. I have had problems converting wrap:Figure with subfigures (from
1.5.x to 1.6.0), but I have ALSO been unable to create one from
scratch in LyX 1.6.0.
So there may be multiple problems here...?
