TeX errors are sometime quite cryptic and the additional layer of LyX->Tex sometimes makes it even harder. It looks like the error is hidden in the preamble or a package or a floating object... In such cases I usually: 1. look into Document>LaTeX Protocoll, as this is somewhat more verbose than the error boxes. 2. Export the docuement to LaTeX and run latex manually. Chances are good that this will locate the spot of the error. As mentioned by others, View>Source is a good help too. The preamble (both, LyX produced and custom) can be seen with the "whole document" option of the source view. Guenter
