XeTeX is not a MAC system. It is a Unicode variant of LaTeX and the new thing in MiKTeX 2.7. So perhaps one of the LaTeX-packages you load in your preamble use now XeTeX when it is available. As it is now available in MiKTeX, it is tried to use it.
