What a pity. Especially as

* Jean-Mark did provide a fix (probabely in 1.6)
* my current workaround with

    # word-delete-forward deletes also non-word characters
    # (space, punctuation, math) behind the word!
    # \bind "C-Delete"  "word-delete-forward"
    \bind "C-Delete"    "command-sequence word-capitalize; delete-forward"

  will probabely no longer work as word-capitalize is said to no longer
  select the word.
