If I remove the front "%", the foldmarks do disappear...
The two other remaining issues that I cannot figure out from reading
the
koma-script manual chapter on the new letter class are:
1) Placing the logo as an included .eps file.
I wrote a french version of the koma-letter2 template for business
letters using an eps logo. It's named ksl2pro.lyx (it uses NFpro.lco and
prologo.eps). It is freely downloadable here: http://pacquet.net/ksl2.

2) Specifying \myheader{} on continuation pages. If I put this command
immediately in front of the first word in the letter body the result is
removal of the headersepline (which the template says should not be there
anyway), and the shift of the current header (based on the Subject label)
from left aligned to right aligned.
I've never used that...
