Try exporting as CSV (comma (or tab) separated values) in a text file. Import of tab-separated values into a table of the right size can be done via mouse-drop. The csv2lyx script creates also the LyX table for you - see http://tomi.gulino.org/OpenSource/csv2lyx/index.html GM
