I am using Windows XP, and installed LyX 1.5.3 (the windows installer) in it. Plus, I also installed Lyx 1.4 through the Cygwin setup. (I had difficulty in compiling LyX 1.5.3 directly in Cygwin due to the complications of installing qt 4)
