I need to include math symbols in tables and when a superscript is present
there is not enought clearance between the symbol and the cell top border.
However, when I add a space to top of a line in a table by setting additional
space between rows to say, custom = 1mm, the space is introduced but, when
rendered as a pdf, there is a corresponding space in the corresponding
vertical border. The space in the border increases and decreases with the
space size. The border space does not occur when a space is introduced at the
bottom of a line.
Is it possible to add a clearance space at the top of a cell without
introducing a space in the vertical border?
There is the trick of adding something invisible that is a little
taller than your superscript. Either an empty minipage
with a specific small size, or a textual construct that
has white color.
