You know that the free version of Utopia does not include true small caps? You need to purchase the commercial expert shapes from Adobe. Have a look at the fourier documentation. The fourier package provides the "expert" option (which is the "true small caps" button in LyX) for the benefit of those who own the expert font. LyX, however, does not check if the expert fonts themselves are installed (which might be tricky). It only checks for the fourier package. Jürgen
