Then it seems that your LaTeX-system is broken. To solve this - uninstall MiKTeX _completely_ before you try to install LyX 1.5 - open an internet connection - install LyX 1.5 using the Complete version of the LyXWinInstaller (it can last a while until the installer installed all needed LaTeX- packages, but you are informed) regards Uwe
