Arrgghhh (again)! I guess I'll just leave it for the time being. Download the \usepackage{lmodern} from the web.aanet.com.au/sage/lyx.pdf site and the not\usepackage{lmodern} from the Lulu site. An interesting possibility here is to upload a postscript file to the Lulu site. They will then convert using Adobe Distiller, and I suppose the result should keep everyone happy.
